The
Loreto Sisters

provide education for girls in the growing Chotanagpur

came to Purulia Road in Ranchi where they set up a
small school
and gave instruction in the 3Rs.
However, in 1903, due to illness and
lack of personnel they had to leave
the are handing over the work to the Ursuline
Sisters.
In
1943,Loreto was once more asked to begin an English-medium
school in the Doranda
area of Ranchi .The Sisters
acquired a bungalow
from a family and later the extensive adjoining Tea
Board
property which provided spacious playing
fields.
