House of Prayer

We pray with the Church and the world

The Pope’s intentions this month:

That Christians may never tire of proclaiming in their lives Christ’s resurrection, the source of hope and peace.

This year World Health Day focuses on the need to protect the health of all people from the adverse effects of climate change. We particularly remember our sisters (especially in Bangladesh) who live and minister in situations where these effects are a daily reality. 7th April

Let us continue to support with prayer our IBVM and CJ communities who live in the midst of uncertainty, conflict or war.

We pray with the Institute

We pray for Josephine Burh and Flora Anthony as they make their Final Vows in Kolkata on April 20th. May God bless them abundantly in their commitment.

During April 1631 Mary Ward was imprisoned in the Anger Convent, Munich. Nearly four centuries later, prison is still a way of excluding people. People are denied their human rights, whole nations are excluded from the economic development permitted to others. Many feel excluded from society, church and institutions We pray for all who work for the liberation of those held captive by person or circumstance.

One Small Voice

God of possibilities
Those who work for change
encounter resistance,
So keep us strong.
Those who chart new paths
feel alone,
So strengthen our networks.

 Those who challenge unjust systems
arouse anger,
So grant inner peace.
Those who love
encounter hatred,
misunderstanding, betrayal,
So deepen friendships.
