to North Bengal University with one year certificate
course, two year diploma and three year degree course.
It is a parallel degree course.
Co-Curricular
Activities
There
are six clubs, which are closely related to the subjects
offered in the college. Every Wednesday a club takes it
in turn to present a performance before the college. A
student can be a member of more than two cIubs.
Literary
Club -This club caters to those interested in
Literature. Papers on literary topics in English,
Nepali, Hindi and Bengali are read; discussions, quizzes
are held. The club encourages creative writing among the
students. Their presentation this year on 'Ticklish
English' was worth mentioning.
History
Club -This club helps create lively interest in the
subject, which is too often equated with dry facts and
dates. This year’s highlight was 'The History of
Darjeeling,' which was enlightening to all.
Dynamic
Club -The club was started with the idea to give
information to the students about the various facts
regarding the history, climate, culture etc of different
places of the world. Their programme on Nepal was the
best and was enjoyed by the NMC delegates also.
Current
Affairs Club -The most popular club discusses, debates
on the current events of the world. The girls of this
club have been busy putting up news bulletins on the
board to keep everyone well informed.
Dramatic
& Debating Club -The annual one-act play
competition, cultural programmes, annual elocution
contest and debates are the responsibility of this club.
The one-act play competition was held on staff-day.
Taru
Mitra Club -This club is related to environment, which
has become an important part of our lives. An
'Eco-Awareness Week' was observed from 11th to 16th
October and everyone took active part to make it a very
successful week.
Games
& Sports -The students are encouraged to play games
and they do take part in the basketball tournaments,
table-tennis and athletic competition. A Table-tennis
tournament was held on 15th August where students and
staff took part.
